Glide has arrived at Rollingwood Athletic Club! We are so excited to introduce an elite new fitness option utilizing a floating platform for accelerated core stability and strength. Glide was created for Aquatic Based Stability/Balance Training (ABST). ABST is a fun way to train balance and build core stability. The “core” includes everything from shoulders to knees, a complex series of muscles which are incorporated in almost every movement of the body. Training the core benefits five different components: strength, endurance, flexibility, motor control, and function. Building core strength and stability can be done through both static and dynamic exercise, and one of the best ways to do so is balance training. The balance training you will receive with Glide improves health, performance, and overall fitness from beginners to advanced athletes, young and not-so-young. Come Glide with us!
These classes will introduce the fundamentals to working out on an unstable surface in the water utilizing the Glide Board. A variety of exercises will be introduced in a fun new way to build strength from head to toe, while raising the heart rate with the added bonus of firing stabilizers that often go unused. As you gain strength and stability we will add in mobility components focusing on the hips, shoulders, and knees. Participants will also use additional fitness equipment, play with plyometric movement and fun agility drills, take flight, and move in and out of the water for an incredible and effective all over body workout. Each class is 60 minutes long, including launch and dock time for your Glide board. Participants should be prepared to have fun and get wet!
1 day/week – Add this amazing class to your weekly workout routine to push your boundaries and keep your body moving in new ways for improve strength and muscle tone.
2 days/week – Bust through that plateau and transform your core, upper body, legs and glutes with two days a week on the Board working core and hip stabilizers, pushing your cardio endurance and perfecting your balance.
12-Week Progressive Program (2 day/week) – This body transforming progressive program will introduce new moves, modalities and challenging postures every week to create an incredible and highly effective workout routine that is not only FUN but will push your boundaries to create a stronger and more confident YOU! This three month program will provide accountability, camaraderie and discipline like you’ve never had before. Your body will be transformed in a completely different way with the help and motivation of an inspiring, fun-loving coach by your side.
