Glide Fitness

GlideFit is at Rollingwood Athletic Club! Introducing an elite new fitness option utilizing a floating platform for accelerated core stability and strength. Glide was created for Aquatic Based Stability/Balance Training (ABST). ABST is a fun way to train balance and build core stability. The “core” includes everything from shoulders to knees, a complex series of muscles which are incorporated in almost every movement of the body. Training the core benefits five different components: strength, endurance, flexibility, motor control, and function. Building core strength and stability can be done through both static and dynamic exercise, and one of the best ways to do so is balance training. The balance training you will receive with Glide improves health, performance, and overall fitness from beginners to advanced athletes, young and not-so-young. Come Glide with us!

GLIDE FIT CLASSES

These classes will introduce the fundamentals to working out on an unstable surface in the water utilizing the Glide Board. A variety of exercises will be introduced in a fun new way to build strength from head to toe, while raising the heart rate with the added bonus of firing stabilizers that often go unused. As you gain strength and stability we will add in mobility components focusing on the hips, shoulders, and knees. Participants will also use additional fitness equipment, play with plyometric movement and fun agility drills, take flight, and move in and out of the water for an incredible and effective all over body workout. Each class is 60 minutes long, including launch and dock time for your Glide board. Participants should be prepared to have fun and get wet!

Glide Circuit

Glide Fit is an aquatics based stability training program that trains your body in a whole new way. While exercising on an unstable board on top of the water you will not only improve your athletic ability, but will also improve all aspects of balance, coordination and joint stability.

In our new Glide Circuit format, you get a unique mixture of stability training on the Glide Board, land based training such as calisthenics and resistance training, and swimming. Take your fitness to another level in this RAC exclusive class!

Glide Fitness is part of RAC’s Small Group Training Programs. Each class a maximum capacity of 5 participants. Each class time will require a minimum of 3 participants to run. Participants must be 17 years of age or more.
Be prepared to get wet! Appropriate attire required.
