Change- Your Mission Isn’t Over

Fall is approaching fast and the Holidays are right around the corner! You are 75% of the way through the year… What do you plan on doing for the remaining quarter? The Holidays pose an interesting challenge for many. Between vacations, family events, and busy schedules, many people don’t make the time to come into the club. How are you going to stay on course? You are on a mission and you intend to finish that mission!
How do you finish the mission though? Maybe you have made the commitment but have struggled numerous times this year in meeting your fitness goals and are wrestling with discouragement… Maybe life is beating you down emotionally and mentally and you feel too drained to go to the club… Maybe you are going strong but are tempted to take these next few months off… You are not alone. No one is immune to these kinds of issues. Don’t despair. Whatever the issue may be, YOU have the choice to respond to your situation. You get to ultimately decide how you want to finish the year out. It’s not set in stone… you have the opportunity to determine your fate. This can be the scariest yet most liberating truth one can discover. It all starts with a change of mindset.

Change is imperative if you want to reach new heights. If you truly desire to accomplish your goals, change is actually non-negotiable. That doesn’t mean that change is easy though. Sometimes it can be painstakingly challenging. Change requires you to do something different… something uncomfortable…something abnormal. You mustn’t shy away from such discomfort. Embrace it. When your feelings and emotions are screaming in silence for you to give up, you must not give in. You may have given up many times in the past, but moving forward you know you can change that. You alone have the power to short circuit those defeatist mental conversations. Don’t even give those thoughts a chance to breed. Be proactive.
Once you have come to the reality that YOU alone have the power to change how you think, you need to run with this information. Don’t just admit this truth. Live it. Just like you can intellectually “know” that honey is sweet, you won’t actually KNOW it until you experience its sweetness. Well you can also theoretically “know” that you alone have the power to change your thoughts, but to actually experience this knowledge is entirely different. Put it into practice. You must tie this knowledge into your overall goal here at the club. Your goals are your own. Don’t let them slip away. Go after them.
